Gum disease starts when there is an excessive build up of plaque and poor oral hygiene. Gum infection when bacteria or viruses invade and grow within a tissue. There is almost always associated inflammation and it also refers to gum disease. Gum disease and infection can affect anyone at any age even children. There are several factors why gum infection occurs.
If gum disease left untreated it can cause more damage to dental health and it may even trigger certain medical conditions to occur. And the worse thing that can happen is losing your teeth. Gum infection affects not only the gums but the tissues and bones below it. Gum disease is being classified with two categories gingivitis at its mildest form and periodontitis as the advance stage.
